Unveiling the Fun Side of Homeschooling: Interview With My Hubby Teacher Extraordinaire

Hey wonderful homeschoolers and blog buddies! Recently, I did a handoff of the teaching hat to my fantastic husband, and he’s been absolutely killing it as our homeschool teacher. Today, let’s take a delightful dive into the nitty-gritty of this new escapade with my incredible partner-in-education. Join me as we explore the inner workings of our homeschool life with a sprinkle of mom humor and a giant dollop of appreciation for all that he does!

Q: First off, kudos to you, hubby! You’ve taken on the role of a homeschool teacher. How did you feel when I first handed you the teaching baton?

A: Nervous and excited. It was a cocktail of emotions – excitement to witness the kids’ growth and nervousness, wondering if they’d be okay with me teaching.

Q: We’ve all had those moments when kids’ questions leave us stumped. Share one of your funniest or most challenging “teacher” moments so far!

A: The funniest and most puzzling thing for me is the way I write number 2’s – apparently, my cursive style drives them up the wall! Who knew a number could be so controversial?

Q: How do you keep our homeschool days organized and running smoothly? Any secret weapons or strategies you’d like to share with our readers?

A: One secret is not changing what was already in place. I let the kids guide me with the routine they were used to. Also, always read instructions in the workbooks!

Q: Balancing work, homeschooling, and life can be a juggling act. How do you manage to wear all those hats and keep your sanity?

A: Honestly, I don’t! laughs I prioritize the important stuff and whatever’s left undone just waits for tomorrow.

Q: The classroom isn’t just in the house; it’s in the heart. How do you incorporate love and fun into our homeschooling routine?

A: Music, YouTube, dancing, singing, and learning a quirky fact every day. Education with a side of entertainment!

Q: Let’s talk about curriculum choices. What’s your favorite subject to teach, and why? Any subject you secretly wish you could avoid?

A: Math is my jam – there are multiple ways to do it, and you can always find an answer. On the flip side, spelling is my nemesis because, let’s be honest, English spelling makes zero sense sometimes!

Q: What’s your go-to “teacher fuel” or snack to keep you energized during the school day? And how do you handle kids’ snack requests while “on duty”?

A: A Cherry Coke or coffee are my go-to`s. Kids have their water bottles prepped, and snacks are always on standby.

Q: As you’ve embraced homeschool life, what do you think is the most significant benefit for our kids and our family as a whole?

A: Flexibility and targeted learning. Shorter school hours allow for hobbies and activities that the kids enjoy.

Q: We all know humor helps in life, and especially in homeschooling. Share a funny homeschool moment or blooper that made you laugh.

A: Oh, it’s the kids’ potty humor, especially in the handwriting books. Their drawings at the end of lessons often have a hilarious bathroom twist.

Q: Lastly, what message would you like to send to all the dads who might be considering taking on homeschooling duties? Any words of wisdom or encouragement?

A: Anyone can homeschool! It’s easier than you think. There will be challenges, but watching your kids grow is an irreplaceable experience.

Thank you, hubby, for sharing your insights and for adding an immense amount of joy to our homeschool journey. To all you readers out there, remember, homeschooling is an adventure for the whole family, and it’s okay to share the teaching hat. Here’s to laughter, learning, and loads of love!
